Bwin was founded in 1997 as 'BetandWin' and then took to the internet in 1998. They became the first online betting site to offer live in-play betting, which allows customers to place wagers on sporting events during the course of a match. In the early 2000s, Bwin began a phase of diversification by adding online casino games in 2001 and then online poker in 2004. They changed the name to Bwin in 2006 and then merged with Party Gaming in 2011 to form Bwin.Party.

Today, Bwin.Party takes in more than €600 million in revenue per year through its sports betting, casino gaming and online poker products along with business-to-business solutions in regulated markets around the world. If you're tired of dealing with small time operators with limited betting options and questionable security practices, Bwin is certainly worth considering. Read on for the complete Bwin review below.

Bwin Sports

The entire Bwin business model revolves around sports betting. Sure, they also have online poker and casino games, but sports betting is what Bwin does best. Bwin covers more sports and provides more markets than any other betting site on the internet. In total, the bookmaker offers wagers on nearly 40 sports with upwards of a hundred individual markets for individual games. There are some big bookmakers out there, but Bwin is the biggest of them all.

For example, I logged in to Bwin this morning to plan my approach this review and saw that there were 10,932 open wagers just for today. That's literally 10 times more betting options than what you typically see at a medium-sized bookmaker. I cannot stress enough just how extensive the options are here.

The book itself is organized in the usual fashion with a list of sports along the left side, all available bets in the middle and a betting slip along the right side. Placing a bet is a simple as selecting your sport and then clicking on the side you want and typing in your bet amount. If you want to see other options besides the moneyline and point spread, click on the title of the match (in the middle of the screen) to see a full list of all markets for that matchup.

All About 3 Betting in Poker The Three Bet. One of the common definitions you will hear as you play poker is '3-bet', or 'three-bet'. A 3-bet as most players use the term means the act of putting in the third bet, technically the second 'raise', the '3-bet' during any given round of action. It's only in recent years that the term has become popular, indicative of its use during online play.

Poker bet terms
3Bet word type: poker slang The act of making a raise against a raise in a hand, or in other words, the final bet in the sequence of Big Blind - Raise - 3Bet. In poker, a '3bet' occurs when there is a bet, raise and re-raise. The re-raise is the '3bet'. For instance - let's say that you are playing in a cash game. You currently have the button. A player from early position raises, and you look down and pocket Aces. You put in a re-raise, or '3bet'.

The more popular sports and high profile events are often home to 100 and sometimes even 200+ individual markets. Bwin's focus on the European region pretty much guarantees there will always be a massive selection of football matchups and markets at all levels of play. It's not uncommon for a single match to be covered with numerous point spreads, a variety of point totals, halftime results, 1st or 2nd half goals, exact score predictions, goals per team, first goalscorer, last goalscorer, cards and penalties, corner kicks and more.

In Play Betting and Live Video

Bwin plays host to about 120 live betting events every day of the week across a wide range of sports. Select the 'live betting' option from the top navigation menu at the home page and you'll see a list of all events running right now as well as a link to the calendar where you can see what's coming up next.

The live betting interface at Bwin automatically updates in real time with live scores and odds on dozens of wagers that you can place throughout the match. Some of the live betting options include betting on who will win the half, who will win the match, how many goals will be scored by each side and a number of props such as whether the total number of goals will be odd or even.

In total, Bwin has an above average number of live events and markets per event. They cover everything from football to darts in real time and even provide live video of certain sports throughout the day. As long as you're a customer, you can log in to your account any time to watch dozens of matches every day live on your computer or mobile device.

Mobile Betting

Bwin caters to punters on the go with a mobile friendly website (m.bwin.com) and downloadable apps for the iPhone, iPad and all Android devices. The mobile apps have seen a number of improvements recently to make it easier to browse wagers, manage your account, stream sports events live and keep up to date with sports statistics. Casino Review

Bwin's casino once had a reputation for having a limited game selection but they've improved on that recently with a significant expansion of its lineup. The casino in its current form offers about 300 games from multiple software providers including the likes of Amaya and NetEnt.

You can access the casino online at the Bwin website for an instant play option that works on every operating system or save the casino software to your computer if you have a PC. If you're mobile, you can also head over to casino.m.bwin.com to play online in your browser or download the app from the iTunes or Google Play stores.

The instant play software gave me no problems but I noticed the game selection is severely limited compared to the full download. If you have a PC, it would be worth it to download the software and play on your computer whenever you're at home. This will give you access to the NetEnt lineup of ultra high quality 3D games.

Slots

Bwin Casino Review

There's quite a wide variety of slot game options with games of all different styles. It was amusing to see lighthearted, cartoony games that would be fit for kids right alongside adult oriented slots such as Sin City that come with warnings about violence, nudity and 'depravity.' Needless to say, there's something for everyone here.

A good portion of the games are themed after movies and entertainment brands such as King Kong, Sin City and others. And last but not least, the slots collection at Bwin includes a few progressive jackpot games with top prizes worth €1 million or higher.

Table Games and Video Poker

You'll want to download the full software if you're into table games because the instant play casino only offers 7 table games at present. The full PC download hosts all the usual table games that you would find at any real world casino. This includes the likes of blackjack, craps, roulette and many more.

The story is much the same with video poker. There are five games available through the instant play website and many more once you actually download the software. One thing that has already bothered me with online video poker is the lack of attention most casinos seem to devote to their video poker games with limited selection and sub-par graphics. Bwin breaks the trend there with VP machines that are well designed and fun to play.

Live Dealer Casino

The live dealer casino at Bwin is limited in game variety (roulette, caisno Holdem, baccarat and blackjack) but what it does offer is high quality. The video fees are surprisingly crisp and almost look like HD TV without the usual lagging issues you typically see with online streams. I found the dealers to be friendly and professional but just wish Bwin would invest in a bigger variety of live dealer options.

Online Poker

Bwin moved to the Party Poker network after the Bwin.Party merger in 2011 and got a huge boost in traffic compared to its previous station on the OnGame Network. Today, Bwin Poker boasts thousands of cash game and tournament players with an excellent software setup that works on Mac, PC and mobile in addition to an instant play option for anyone who can't or won't download the software.

At any given moment, the poker room boasts something in the range of 4,000 active players at a wide range of stakes. One thing you should keep in mind is that Bwin focuses on just Texas Holdem, Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo. Their strategy seems to be to concentrate its player base into a few game types to keep traffic levels high rather than spreading it thin across a huge game selection like some other sites do.

The trade-offs to this approach are that you see more active tables at each level but are limited to just a few game types. If you need to have 7 Card Stud, Razz or other 'niche' poker variations, Bwin won't do the trick. If you're fine with Holdem and Omaha, you'll enjoy your stay.

Cash Games

Bwin.gr

The cash games at Bwin start at stakes of $0.01/$0.02 for no-limit and go as high as $25/$50 with a $5,000 buyin. Fixed limit games start at $0.02/$0.04 and go as high as $30/$60. Traffic is excellent in the no limit games, where even the highest levels have active games. However, the fixed limit games are a desert wasteland. There is not much limit action at Bwin.

Bwin hosts heads-up, six-max and full ring tables that you can sort and organize to show only the types of games you want at the stakes you want. They also have a form of fast-fold poker called 'fastforward' in which you are immediately taken to a new table and dealt in every time you hit the fold button. This eliminates the wait-time behind hands and makes for a fun and very fast-paced experience.

Tournaments

Any site as large as Bwin is bound to have a strong tournament scene, and that's the case here. Bwin's tournament selection includes a variety of freerolls, guaranteed prize pool events, satellites to the WSOP and other land-based tournaments, rebuys, shootouts and bounties. My favorite set of tournaments are the Daily Majors with medium to large guarantees every day of the week. On Sundays, the Daily Majors really get going with about a dozen tournaments guaranteeing prize pools of $5,000 to $100,000.

Sit-n-go tournaments have their own section in the poker lobby and are also fairly busy. Buyins range from $0.10 to $1,000 and are hosted in heads-up, shorthanded and full ring formats. Bwin also hosts step tournaments in which you can win your way up through the levels for large prizes or seats to land events such as the WSOP and WPT.

Software

Bwin has the best poker software out of every poker site in my opinion. For one, they offer full software downloads for both PC and Mac users. They also have an instant play option and mobile apps that work with just about any device with an internet connection. On top of all that, the software just works. A clean and lightweight design along with an aesthetic color scheme all combine to make this a solid piece of software.

The one big weakness in the software is that multi-tabling is limited to four tables at a time. I suspect this won't be a problem for most readers, but it's bad if you like to run 6 or 8 tables at a time like I do. It's not the end of the world, but it would definitely be an improvement to see Bwin ease up on those multi-tabling restrictions.

There's one last thing to note before you get started. Like many other poker sites, Bwin has taken to this new trend of grouping cash game tables and randomly seating you at a table once you choose your game type and stakes. If you find this annoying (you will), look for the square 'classic view' icon in the upper right corner of the poker lobby. Click that and you'll go back to the old fashioned table list view.

Customer Support

Bwin Live

Customer support is adequate but not particularly impressive for a company as established as Bwin. If you need help, you can contact them 7 days a week (but not 24 hours a day) by phone and e-mail. Support reps will eventually get you the right answer but response times aren't the greatest.

Deposit Methods

Bwin has a ton of deposit methods aimed at serving its international customer base. Deposit limits vary by payment method as well as on an individual customer basis. If you need to increase your limits or even set a lower maximum deposit amount, you can contact Bwin support for assistance.
